TOOLS

WHAT TO DO. WHO TO WRITE. HOW TO HELP.

1. SIGN THE PETITION

The construction of the Pier House in Brooklyn Bridge Park must be halted pending a full review.

This petition is for the residence of Brooklyn Heights, all of Brooklyn, all of New York and the millions of tourists who visit our great city. Takes 5 minutes and easy to do.

2. JOIN A COMMITTEE

We have four working groups that need volunteers. Please send an email to the following groups to help us out. We already have great talent and can use more!

Legal Strategy This group will help with advice on legal strategy and help determine where the violations have taken place.  Contact: Jenny Donaker, stvn.legal@gmail.com

Communications/Social Media/Web Development This group will help form a PR strategy delivered through via social media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram TK), our web page, and traditional media. Contact: Aaron Pellman-Isaacs, stvn.communications@gmail.com

Political  Outreach to local politician as well as promotion of cause to local community networks. Contact: Susan Roboy, stvn.political@gmail.com

Public Outreach Canvassing neighborhood and city with fliers, posters and messaging. Contact:  Jenny Donaker, stvn.outreach@gmail.com

3. Write Our Governor and Mayor

We need your help to take our issue to Governor Cuomo and Mayor De Blasio.  Both have the power to bring the Pierhouse back into compliance with the agreements made with the public in 2005 and 2006. We must demand that they do so. Tell them to join with the public and not the developers.

This only takes a few minutes as all inquires are though the internet.. We’ve created an easy letter for you to cut and paste at the end of this page. Please note for Di Blasio and Cuomo you do not need to include your name or contact info in the body of the letter you paste onto the websites (they only accept under 300 words.) There are separate fields to enter your contact info.

Get full details and the letter here.

4. Canvas Your Neighborhood
